Alliance Community reaches highest intake yet for new Certificate IV in Disability course

Alliance Community, Australia’s leading provider of quality community support, has reached its highest intake yet for the Certificate IV in Disability, with a new group of staff enrolled in the course late last month.

Delivered through specialist training facility Wentworth College and run at Alliance Community’s Sydney office, the Cert. IV in Disability course provides flexible, innovative training to staff that allows those living with a disability to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing.

There are no minimum education requirements to complete the course, and any ‘Support Stars’ already working as part of Alliance Community are eligible to enrol and gain all of the necessary qualifications required to expand into the disability support sector.

For any staff that already hold the preceding Cert. III in Disability, completing a Cert. IV provides an exciting opportunity to upskill into higher level roles, including complex care.

“It’s really exciting to see our staff taking up the chance to challenge themselves and move in a new area of the community support sector through this course,” says Jeremy O’Neill, Recruitment Manager for Alliance Community.

“Getting this certification has really improved my service to the organisation, but it’s also made me a better help to my clients,” says Tania Valdes, a graduate of the 2018 course intake for the Cert. IV.

“It’s given me the chance to improve my career and gain new experiences, and the whole Alliance Community team was extremely supportive of me while I completed the course.”

Alliance Community is proud to offer this course to its Sydney-based ‘Support Stars,’ with hopes to extend the course to other teams across the country in the future.
