It may seem like a big move with a lot to organise but your Recruitment Consultant will help you through the whole process making your life easy! The first step to starting your nursing down under adventure is to register with the national regulatory authority known as AHPRA (Australian Health Professional Regulation Authority). All individuals wanting to practice as a nurse in Australia must receive this registration. We recommend you visit the AHPRA website to learn about the registration process and what is required www.ahpra.gov.au. But don’t worry, your dedicated Recruitment Consultant will talk you through the exact requirements and support you through the entire process. Tip! We recommend you apply for and receive your AHPRA registration before flying out! To enter Australia everyone also needs an appropriate visa. Working Holiday Visa’s (WHV) allow holders to travel and work in Australia for up to 12 months, allowing holiday makers to have an extended holiday by supplementing their travel funds through incidental employment.
Working holiday applicants need to be aged between 18 to 35, single or married without children You must apply before your 36th birthday For more information about what else you need to be eligible for a WHV in Australia or how to apply for a second WHV we recommend you visit www.border.gov.au
The thing I’d tell other nurses is just do it! Life’s too short. It’s a big world to experience.
